Mascarade Gala
by Key Biscayne Times
The International Christian School on Brickell Ave held its annual masquerade gala on Saturday evening to raise funds for the library and to buy smart boards for all classrooms.
Some 120 parents and teachers attended, many wearing masks for the evening, including special guest Pietro Floris, the Education Attache for the Italian Consulate in Miami. Like last year, the evening was a huge success, raising an estimated $20,000 for the school's new projects.
The evening was organized by the Teacher and Parent Association under the magnificent leadership of its president Daniela Carvalho who donated food for the dinner from her restaurant La Brasserie on Brickell Key.
Among the main sponsors were Bowes Dermatology, Samantha Wilson Skin Care, Trini In Private hair salon, Morton's Steakhouse, Barolo's restaurant, Brickell Tennis Club and Liquid Metal Fashion Jewlery. Condo maven, Michele Estevez, donated four nights at the Ritz Carlton in Key Biscayne, and another Key Biscayne store, Macarena Accesories, donated a beautiful necklace and bracelet. Mary Oei photography donated a free photo shoot.
